I had hoped to create a more defined portrait, but I found that with only a light pricking of holes the portrait was indistinct, but as I increased the size of the rips I lost definition of the features - not a particularly successful attempt. I do, however, like the effect of the strands forming the hair - I think this could be an interesting area to pursue, perhaps using thread fixed into paper to create this effect but keep the definition of the portrait.
